Can Your FYP Help Find Your Next Cozy Game to Play?

Sometimes the fyp isn’t all doomscrolling, sometimes it gives you a couple of gems of information. Like, some games to add to the ever-growing list of cozy games on Steam to play! Here are some cute and cozy games that my FYP has showcased to me, which are releasing soon, I’ve played, or are lined up to play.

Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts

You know when you hyper-fixate on a subject so much that you just know a lot about it. I think the FYP knew I had a stint of just learning a lot about medieval England and the royal court, and that it wanted me to make manuscripts.

Scriptorium, release date to be announced, is a casual game of making illustrated manuscripts for clients and getting paid. That’s all there is to it, and it sounds like so much fun. Already added to my wishlist of games on Steam.

The game in previews shows the player pulling from premade elements to create fun illustrations to fit with the client's needs. There’s a lot you can create, from actual manuscripts to funny Dungeons and Dragons spreads.

I’m looking forward to this cozy game being released; pretty sure I’ll enjoy illustrating in a different style. Fingers crossed it’s compatible with the Steam Deck.

Tiny Glade

2025 has already been…. let’s say… hectic? Insane? The worst? Another world event day after day? Yeah, games that require no brainpower sound like a nice escape.

Tiny Glade is a single-player builder game that lets you, in the developers’ own words, “doodle” whimsical castles, cottages, and ruins in a small glade in the woods. That’s all there is to it. You can just go to town with your creations. Make vine-covered buildings and build towers that replicate Disney’s Rapunzel. ANYTHING! This game is just the perfect sandbox to unwind and create. It’s every cottagecore lover’s dream game.

I’ve spoken about this cozy game before, and it still holds up as one of my favorite games to turn off the brain. It’s the best cozy game on my list of recurring games to play!

Tiny Glade is on Steam, as well. I play on my Steam Deck, and it works pretty well once you get comfortable with the controls.

I have written a blog about Tiny Glade previously. You can find it here.

PEAK

This might be a surprise for a choice, but my fyp keeps showing this adventure game, and it’s a relaxing game, somewhat. PEAK is a 1-4 player game where you hike up multiple levels of a mountain to be rescued. Think of it as a mix of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild climb mechanics, with goofy character designs.

I say Zelda, because everything is reliant on your stamina bar. Pack lightly, you have more to work with; pack a lot, you’ll suffer a bit. Other factors that affect your stamina like health, hunger, poison, etc. And you must find food, items, and more to help make your journey to the top go smoothly.

This game has become a fun choice for sibling game nights. We’re practically laughing ourselves into a coma every time we play this game together.

Date Everything

This I found because I follow Critical Role, which led to me following Robbie Daymond. But this game is hilarious. Date Everything is literally what the title says: you’re dating…everything!

Using these magical spectacles, you bring inanimate objects to life and talk to them as a full dating sim. From the door, Dorian, to the table, Abel. There are just so many in the nooks and crevices of the protagonist’s home to find.

The best part for me is that there are a hundred-plus characters with their own personalities, and the developers brought in a lot of well-known voice actors, including those of the Critical Role crew. It’s very fun to recognize the voices as they appear.

Tales of the Shire

As of posting this blog, this game is finally out, and I'm probably sitting on the couch playing it non-stop. I’ve been looking forward to this cozy simulation game for over a year now. Tales of the Shire is a management game where you create your hobbit persona and just live out your life in the little corner of Middle-Earth. Farm, decorate your home, complete tasks around town.

I’m looking forward to enjoying my tiny little life in Bywater and showing just how much of a Hobbit I can be. I’m going to have a hard time putting the game away for sure.

Does this aesthetic resonate with you, and want more?
